Currently, the department is conducting research work in three areas: “Methods of teaching computer science and information technology”, “Programming technologies”, “Mathematical modeling”. The faculty, based on its specialization, signed cooperation agreements and established strong ties with 4 professional colleges and 5 academic lyceums of the region.

At the disposal of the Department of Physics there are 6 educational laboratories in general physics: laboratories of mechanics, molecular physics, electricity and magnetism, optics, atomic and nuclear physics, methods of teaching physics, radio electronics.
The main scientific problems of the department are two directions: the first direction, devoted to methodological problems, includes the topic “Improving the teaching of physics in higher, secondary and general education schools”; the second direction, concerning scientific issues, includes the topics “Study of the structure and physical properties of matter”, “Electrophysical properties of polycrystalline silicon”, “Conversion of solar energy into other types of energy”.
Currently, the department has: 3 educational and scientific laboratories, a radio engineering circle, physics circles and scientific seminars on topical problems of modern physics.

Currently, the department mainly conducts research work in three areas: "Differential Equations and Their Applications", "Modern Algebra and Analysis", "Methods of Teaching Mathematics". The department has established strong ties with academic lyceums at the university and leading universities. Clubs and a scientific seminar work regularly at the department together with the Department of Information Technology.
