The Faculty of Physical Culture of Andijan State University was founded in 1958 as a department of physical education at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology of the Andijan State Pedagogical Institute.

At that time, the dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology G. Sh. Ilyasov directly supervised the department. In the same year, students were admitted to the specialty of physical education.

In 1964, the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology were separated into separate independent faculties. The Department of Physical Culture was placed at the disposal of the Faculty of Biology. Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor A.Kh.Yunusov was appointed Dean of the Faculty. The number of departments increased, talented youth were admitted to them. Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor N.L. Myasnikov went through all the stages of his work in this educational institution, starting from a teacher and ending with the dean of the faculty. Until the last minutes of his life, he devoted himself to such a noble cause as the education and upbringing of young people.

G.G. Aivazov, basketball - V.A. Alekhin, gymnastics - R.R. Murtazin, candidate of biological sciences, associate professor A. Haydn were engaged in the education of young people according to the theory and methods of physical education.

In 1965, the faculty "Physical Education" became an independent faculty. Candidate of Biological Sciences O.Z. Ergashev was appointed dean of the faculty. Students were accepted into the Uzbek and Russian groups separately at the faculty. The material base of the faculty improved. Significant changes took place at the department. Having won the championships of the former USSR, Europe in boxing, the student of the faculty F. Pak fulfilled the standard of the master of sports of international class, the authority and prestige of the faculty became known throughout the republic.

In 1966, the faculty was headed by Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor R.T. Komilov. The combined teams of the faculty successfully performed at the championships of the city, region, republic, and also the masters of sports of the USSR in classical wrestling and national kurash, as well as in sambo were trained at the faculty.

In 1974, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor N.D. Myasnikov was appointed Dean of the Faculty. Lecturers of the faculty Sh.Abdullaev and N.Karaboevs, under the scientific guidance and advisory support of well-known scientists, doctors of medical sciences T.Muravyov and A.Yarotsky, began scientific research. Sports success of students also increased significantly. Faculty students began to achieve a number of successes in city, regional and republican competitions.

2 departments began to function at the faculty: “Theory and methods of physical education”, “Sports games and physical culture”. Several talented young people were admitted to the faculty as teachers. O.Zh.Cholakov, N.K.Yuldashev, candidate of pedagogical sciences A. M. Urinbaev, V. S. Bayramova, Sh. achieve a number of successes in city, regional and republican championships.

Faculty students began to successfully participate in several major competitions. In weightlifting, O. Turgunov fulfilled the requirements of an international master of sports, setting a record in his weight. Included in the national team of the former USSR. A student of the faculty S. Ulmasova received the title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, setting records of the USSR and the world in the 3000 m run. In the 1000 m run, student Z. Akhtyanova fulfilled the standard of the master of sports of the USSR of international class, setting a record of the former USSR. In Andijan, representatives of the women's field hockey team, students of the faculty L. Akhmedova, N. Nabatnikova made a worthy contribution to the nationwide spread of the faculty's prestige by winning the USSR championship.

Special attention at the faculty was paid to research work. Established involvement of teachers of the faculty in research work, established links with the leading research centers of the country. Particular attention was paid to research work.

Then E.K. Khalilov (1988-1997), I. Mamatohunov (1997-2000), N. Yuldashev (2000-2008), S. Niyazov (2008-2010), Kh. 2010-2013), B.M. Nosirov (2013-2020), Z. Dzhumakulov (2020-2021). Since September 2021, the faculty staff has been headed by a talented young scientist, associate professor Yusupov Tulanboy Ibragimovich.

EDUCATIONAL PROCESS 

At the moment, the Faculty of Physical Education is training specialists in the areas of education 5112000 - Physical culture, 5112001 - Women's sports, 5610502 - Sports activities (boxing), 5610513 - Sports activities (football), 5610513 - Sports activities (kurash). Also the faculty has a master's program in the specialty "Physical Education". Talented undergraduates who graduated from the master's program are employed in the teaching staff of the faculty. Currently, more than 300 people study at the faculty, among which there are champions of the world, Asia and the republic, they are taught by more than 120 professors and teachers.

CLUB ACTIVITIES 

Today, at the departments of the Faculty of Physical Education, such clubs as “Football”, “Volleyball (men)”, “Volleyball (women)”, “Basketball”, “Handball (girls)”, “Handball (men)”, “Swimming” are organized , “Athletics”, “Table Tennis”, “Belt Kurash”, “Freestyle Wrestling”, “Greco-Roman Wrestling”, “Gymnastics”, “Chess”, “Reflex”, which are headed by qualified professors and teachers. Circles unite gifted students, members of the circles are engaged in scientific and creative activities in the relevant areas. The results of the research work of the members of the circle are published in the newspaper “Andijon Yoshlari”, the journal “Scientific Bulletin of ASU”, as well as in various collections. Every year among the members of the circle there are named scholarship holders and winners of various competitions.  

SPIRITUAL AND EDUCATIONAL WORK 

Spiritual and educational events, various evenings, competitions and sports competitions are regularly held in all groups of the Faculty of Physical Education. The faculty team takes an active part in many spiritual and educational, scientific, practical and sports events of the university, city, region, Republic.

DEPARTMENTS OF THE FACULTY

DEPARTMENT OF THEORY AND METHODOLOGY OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education was established on August 25, 1958 at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology to conduct theoretical and practical classes in physical culture and sports.

From the same year, the candidate of pedagogical sciences Mamatohunov Abduraimzhon Mamatokhunovich began his activity as the head of the department.

Several talented young people were hired to teach. O.Zh.Cholakov, N.K.Yuldashev, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences A.M.Urinbaev, V.S.Bayramova, Sh.G. work. Under their leadership, students involved in sports skill improvement groups began to achieve a number of successes at city, regional and republican championships.

On November 28, 1998, in order to improve the educational process at the Faculty of Physical Education of the daytime and special correspondence departments, on the recommendation of the Academic Council of the University, the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education was transformed into the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Physical Education.

From 1998 to 2010, the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Physical Education was headed by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Saliev Khamidullo Khashimzhanovich, from 2010 to 2014 - Senior Lecturer Yusupov Tulunboy Ibragimovich, in 2014-2016 - Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Saliev Khamidullo Khashimzhanovich. From 2016 to 2020, the assistant professor, master of sports of international class in belt kurash Dzhumakulov Zohidjon Patidinovich was in charge, from 2020 to 2021 - Tokhtakhuzhaev Khanzharbek Bokhodirovich.

On August 25, 2015, by order of the Minister of Higher Education and on the recommendation of the Academic Council of the University, the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Physical Education was renamed the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture.

On February 15, 2021, by order of the rector of Andijan State University, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Niyazov Sakhibjon Sabirzhanovich was appointed head of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture.

The department has 30 members of the teaching staff.

As of the 2021-2022 academic year, students are studying at the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture in 11 undergraduate areas, 7 master's specialties, in total in 18 subjects. In particular, classes are being conducted for undergraduate courses in such areas as the theory and methodology of physical culture, tourism, wrestling and methods of teaching it, swimming and methods of teaching it, the theoretical foundations of sports training, tourism and methods of teaching it, physical culture, theory and methods. sports, theory and methodology of the chosen sport, sports metrology, etc.; For master's specialties, classes are held on the theory and methodology of physical culture and sports, scientific research of physical culture and sports, methods of teaching disciplines of the specialty, methods of developing physical qualities, the basics of the module for training specialists in the methods of physical education, theoretical and practical foundations of controlling physical development, theory and methods of teaching sports.

At the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture there are circles on combat sports. The circles are headed by masters of sports of international class in combat sports and qualified trainers-candidates for masters of sports.

The circles have drawn up plans for working with gifted students, given in order No. 237 of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, classes are regularly held with them in a circle on the theory and methods of physical education. Our talented students regularly participate in sports competitions and various conferences and achieve success. In particular, a talented student of the department Agojonova Ibatkhon successfully participates in prestigious republican and international sports competitions in judo and sambo, Shakhobiddinov Asrorbek - in boxing, Mahmudova Maftuna - in belt kurash/wrestling and win prizes.

Our talented student Agozhonova Prayer Lochinbek kyzy is a 4-time champion of Uzbekistan in judo and 5-time champion in sambo. In addition, in 2016 she took 1st place at the Asian Sambo Championship in Turkmenistan, in 2017 - 1st place at the Asian Championship in Tashkent, in 2017 - 1st place at the Asian Judo Cup in Tashkent. In 2018, she took 3rd place at the Asian Judo Championship in Lebanon and 1st place at the Asian Cup in Tashkent. In 2020, she took 2nd place at the World Sambo Championship among adults and 3rd place among youth in the Serbian city of Novi Star, in 2021 she took 1st place at the Asian Sambo Championship in Tashkent, and in October of the same took 3rd place at the World Sambo Championship in Tashkent.

The department has established partnerships with the Institute of Physical Culture of Uzbekistan and the Kurash Federation of Andijan region. The research work of the department is carried out in cooperation with leading professors, teachers and associate professors of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Of these, it is possible to note the scientific and methodological connections of the teaching staff and associate professors of the Institute of Physical Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zh.Akramov, A.A. Nizami H.Tulenov, as well as professor of Ferghana State University Sh.X.Honkeldiev, associate professors S.Sobirov, A.Abdullayev, R.Khamrakulov and associate professors of Namangan State University H.Usman, S.Azizov. They are regularly involved to guide the research and teaching practice of undergraduates on the topic of master's theses, as well as to advise the faculty of the department in the preparation of candidate dissertations.

Between the department and the wrestling federation of Andijan region, a cooperation agreement was concluded for a period of 5 years. Kurash Federation of Andijan region, according to the agreement, will cooperate in refereeing kurash competitions held at the faculty, active work in university events, as well as in the direction of student youth in sports, taking into account their interests. Such work is being carried out as the creation of teaching aids for sports. 

INTERFACULTY DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL CULTURE AND SPORT

In 1958, a department of physical culture was opened at the faculty of biology of the Andijan State Pedagogical Institute, in the same year the department of sports games was organized and G. Ivanov was appointed head of the department. Over the past years, the teachers of the department have made a worthy contribution to increasing the scientific and pedagogical potential.

In 1998, in connection with the merger of the departments at the faculties of Andijan State University, the departments of sports and physical education were merged and transformed into the department of sports science and methods of teaching it.

In 1998-2008, senior lecturer S. Niyozov worked as the head of the department, in 2008-2012. - senior lecturer of the department N. Yuldashev. The faculty of the department makes a worthy contribution to the training of specialists in physical culture for vocational colleges, academic lyceums and educational institutions. The position of the head of the department was occupied in 2012-2013 by the candidate of pedagogical sciences B. Nasirov, in 2013-2014. - S.A. Yuldashev, in 2014-2020 

The interfaculty department of physical culture and sports conducts classes in physical culture for students of the university faculties, practical classes in sports for students of the faculty of physical culture. The teaching staff of the department with enthusiasm and initiative takes an active part in all sports competitions and events held at the university level.

The Department of Human Physiology and Life Safety at the beginning of 1963 was separated from the Department of Physiology and School Hygiene, and the first head of the department was Candidate of Biological Sciences Sodikjon Yunusov. The merits of S. Yunusov in the organization of the department are enormous. His initiative in the search and instrumentation of the equipment necessary for conducting laboratory classes in the subjects taught at the department was very high. At the same time, A. Yusupov, T. Mansurov, K. Bazarov and I. Zokirov conducted fruitful activities at the department.

In the future, at the initiative of S. Yunusov, young specialists were attracted to the department, conditions were created to increase their scientific potential. R. Tukhtaboev, Sh. Khamzaev and E. Khalilov were sent to graduate school at central research institutes. Until 1975, the department was headed by associate professor M. Mirzakarimov. In 1977-1983, Associate Professor R. Tukhtaboev held the post of head of the department.

In 1983, in order to further improve the activities of the department and improve the quality of educational and scientific activities, the Department of Biochemistry and Physiology was established on the basis of the Department of Physiology and School Hygiene, headed by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor A. Kosimov, who led fruitful activities. Scientific work at the department is carried out in two areas: biochemistry, human and animal physiology. Since 2003, the post of head of the department has been assigned to E.Khalilov. At that time, professors L. Sadbaeva, associate professors K. Kuchkarov, K. Davronov, Sh. Khamzaev, A. Sheraliev, L. Kosimov and others worked at the department. In 2006, by order of the rector of the university, the name of the department was changed, and the department became known as "Physiology and Fundamentals of Medical Knowledge".

The head of the department is associate professor E.Khalilov, professor L.Saidbaeva, associate professor L.Kosimov, associate professor S.Turakhuzhaev, senior lecturers E.Yuldashev, F.Dumaeva, R.Ashurova, assistants Z.Dumaeva, G.Dustmatova, M.Kholmukhamedova G. Mamatisakova, G. Mirzaakbarova lead fruitful activities at the department. On August 29, 2019, by decision of the University Council, the Department of Physiology and Sports Rehabilitation was established on the basis of the Department of Physiology and Medical Knowledge.

Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Sokhipjon Niyazov was appointed head of the department. Since 2013, the Department of Physiology and Sports Rehabilitation has been renamed the Department of Life Safety. Since 2016, Doctor of Biological Sciences Professor Zainabiddinov Anvar Erkinzhonovich has been appointed to the post of head of the department.

The department conducts classes in physiology and anatomy, valeology and life safety with students studying in all areas of the university. All members of the faculty of the department purposefully work on themselves, are hardworking, energetic, strictly observe performance discipline and actively participate in social work. The staff of the department also won international projects. The MODEXED project is one of them.
