2024-10-27    20

As of now, Andijon State University has bilateral agreements, memoranda, and collaborations with 55 universities, research institutes, and centers worldwide. Four international universities have started cooperative education programs, and thirteen higher education institutions are actively cooperating.

Andijon State University and Tongmyong University of South Korea inked a collaboration agreement on March 27, 2023, at the Uzbekistan-Korea Rectors' Forum in Tashkent.

Andijon State University officials took part in the forum honoring Tomsk State University's (Russia) 145th anniversary from September 4–6. The forum's theme was "Sustainability Policy, Multivector Approach, and Technological Sovereignty in Modern Conditions." During this visit, professors discussed joint research initiatives and the educational experiences of students participating in joint programs. Consequently, a 2023–2025 cooperative action plan was signed.

Taking place in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, on October 3–4, the First International Forum of Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan Higher Education Institutions Rectors was themed "Integration, Cooperation, and Innovations in the Higher Education System." Andijon State University actively participated in this meeting, creating new collaboration relationships with Kyrgyz universities. Consequently, bilateral agreements were negotiated with Modern International Universities, Eurasia International University, Bishkek State University, and Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports. Future collaboration plans with partners that were already formed were also discussed.

Memorandums of understanding were signed between Andijon State University and several Turkish universities, including Bartin University, Gazi University, Hacettepe University, and Haji Bayram Veli University, during the Uzbekistan-Turkey Second Education Forum, which took place in Samarkand on October 13–14, 2023.

Professor Dr. Fatma Acik of Gazi University's Faculty of Education was invited to Andijon State University from December 15–19 of this year to carry out these agreements. She shared her expertise with the university's academics and gave 12-hour lectures and hands-on classes on Turkish languages to the Faculty of Philology students.

The university's Faculty of Physics and Mathematics now boasts a state-of-the-art experimental research laboratory on alternative energy sources thanks to a $140,000 Asian Development Bank project named IRENES. The lab is remotely connected to the Oxford Scientific Research Center and is furnished with state-of-the-art scientific apparatus from Germany, Russia, and Spain. This laboratory is currently used for scientific study.

The project "101083216 — ECAMPUZ European World Talent Camp for Uzbekistan Scientists in Food Science and Technology — ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE" is being funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ fund from 2023 to 2026. By building capacity and creating sustainable instruments, this initiative seeks to achieve national priorities for "Sustainable Growth and Jobs" in the food sector of Uzbekistan. The project has a €717,355 budget.

Andijon State University took part in the worldwide competition in 2023 under the European Union's Erasmus+ program in the category of "Capacity Building in Higher Education." The project that was chosen as the winner was "101128871 - DEBSEUz - ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE. Development of the targeted Educational program for Bachelors in Solar Energy in Uzbekistan," which was created in cooperation with both domestic and foreign partners.

Tashkent University of Information Technologies (Grantholder), Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute, Fergana Polytechnic Institute, Andijon State University, Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation are among the Uzbek partners for the project's implementation period (2023–2026). Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) from Spain, Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) from Italy, and University of Évora (UEVORA) from Portugal are examples of European partners.

The project's primary objective is to create cutting-edge courses and programs for "Solar Energy" bachelor's degree training as well as for the professional retraining of experts in Uzbekistan. Twelve new bachelor's degree subject programs will be developed as part of the project, and seven cutting-edge labs will be set up at seven Uzbek higher education institutions. Furthermore, 69 academics and professionals will receive training at partner universities in Europe, and yearly educational-scientific conferences will be organized.

More than ten professors and guest lecturers from prestigious international universities, including those from the USA, Malaysia, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and the UK, gave master courses and direct lectures at Andijon State University in 2023.

Over thirty university professors took part in international scientific-practical conferences, seminars, research projects, pedagogical exchanges, meetings, and internships at esteemed foreign universities and research centers throughout the year.

Andijon State University is conducting joint bachelor's degree programs in seven fields (2+2 format) with four international higher education institutions to guarantee the fulfillment of the duties outlined in the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Additional Measures to Improve the Quality of Education in Higher Educational Institutions and Ensure Their Active Participation in Comprehensive Reforms Being Implemented in the Country" (PQ-3775) and "On Measures to Further Develop the Higher Education System" (PQ-2909).

Joint programs with Polotsk State University (Belarus) and Mordovia State University (Russia) were formed for the 2019–2020 academic year. Additionally, a collaborative program with Tomsk State University (Russia) was started in the 2020–2021 academic year:

With Polotsk State University: "Technological Education" and "Tourism" (Bachelor's); • With Mordovia State University: "Philology and Language Teaching: Russian Language" (Bachelor's) and "Biology" (Master's); • With Tomsk State University: "Business Management," "Biology," and "Archival Studies" (Bachelor's).

At the moment, over 100 third- and fourth-year students are enrolled in combined educational programs at partner overseas universities. Two alumni of the master's program in "Biology," which was created in collaboration with Mordovia State University, successfully finished their studies in 2022 and were awarded state-standard certificates from both nations.

After finishing their fourth year in joint programs, 36 students in 2023 obtained state-standard bachelor's degrees, including 18 in "Philology and Language Teaching: Russian Language" and 18 in "Technological Education."

Admissions for the joint bachelor's degree in "Biology" with Ege University (Turkey) have opened for the 2023–2024 academic year.

Bringing in International Students: The university has made a lot of efforts in recent years to draw in international students. In order to achieve this, the university has created pamphlets and video advertisements in three languages (English, Russian, and Uzbek) for its website. Additionally, the Republic's border regions have seen promotional activity. At the moment, Andijon State University is home to 22 international students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.
